Welcome New Faculty Member, Lily Wang The Department is excited to welcome Li (Lily) Wang as a new faculty member, with a starting date of August 2007. Lily received her PhD degree in 2007 from Michigan State University where she worked on polynomial spline smoothing for time series under the direction of Lijian Yang. Gauri Datta Receives Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Florida Congratulations to Gauri Datta for receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Department of Statistics, University of Florida, November 2007. Gauri received his PhD at the University of Florida under the supervision of Professor Malay Ghosh in 1990 and joined our department in the same year. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Statistics Education The Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, starting August 2011. Applicants must have a demonstrated research interest in statistics education. A Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Statistics Education, or a closely related field is required. Scholarly credentials must reflect a strong commitment to teaching at all levels.
