The Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the area of mathematical statistics, starting August 2012. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, and scholarly credentials must reflect a strong commitment to research in statistical theory and teaching. Successful applicants are expected to develop a research program that will be competitive for external funding.

Yun Chen has accepted a position as a Research Analyst at the Harvard School of Public Health, where she will be working in the field of adult AIDS.

Desale Habtzghi is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at Georgia College and State University.

Jing Shen currently works for IBM Watson Research Center in New York.

Jing Liu has accepted an offer from Fisher School of Accounting in the University of Florida.

Elizabeth Young is working on a PhD in statistics at Texas A&M University in the area of spatial statistics, and when she is not doing research, she enjoys swing dancing.

Xin Zhao is a Senior Risk Analyst for CompuCredit Corp. in Atlanta.

Lihua Wang currently works at J.P.Morgan Chase located at Wilmington, Delaware. She is in a risk modeling group focusing on acquisition risk. Lihua's daughter is 13 months now. Lihua's husband Ruijie, Niu, a master student in statistcs department of UGA, also works in J.P.Morgan Chase focusing on portfolio risk analysis.

"Both Zhengang and I still work at JPMorgan Chase. We are at the same building and carpool everyday. Our son just turned 3 and he can speak two languages now. We bought a house a few months ago and it seems that everything has settled down."

Matt Atkinson is now an instructor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.
