Gauri Datta Receives Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Florida

Congratulations to Gauri Datta for receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Department of Statistics, University of Florida, November 2007. Gauri received his PhD at the University of Florida under the supervision of Professor Malay Ghosh in 1990 and joined our department in the same year. His outstanding record in the profession makes him an excellent choice for this award.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Statistics Education

The Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, starting August 2011. Applicants must have a demonstrated research interest in statistics education. A Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Statistics Education, or a closely related field is required. Scholarly credentials must reflect a strong commitment to teaching at all levels. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate potential to develop an active research program in statistical education.
