Congratulations to Chris Franklin for being a recipient of the Lothar Tresp Outstanding Honors Professor Award for her superior performance and dedication as a teacher in the Honors Program at UGA. An outstanding achievement and a wonderful recognition!

Nicole Lazar has been selected to participate in the Writing Fellows Program in 2008/09. This program, which will be in its second year, is run by the Center for Teaching and Learning at UGA.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Statistics Education

Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor in Statistics / Bioinformatics

The Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, starting August 2011. Applicants must have a demonstrated research interest in statistics education. A Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Statistics Education, or a closely related field is required. Scholarly credentials must reflect a strong commitment to teaching at all levels. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate potential to develop an active research program in statistical education.

The Department of Statistics and the Institute of Bioinformatics at the University of Georgia invite applications for a position at the assistant or associate professor level, starting August 2011. Applicants must have a demonstrated research interest in bioinformatics. The tenure home for the position is in the Department of Statistics. A Ph.D. in statistics or a related field is required.
