That Monday she flew to Wellington for the Fulbright award ceremony held at Parliament. She is currently the only U.S. scholar of five still in New Zealand. All nine of her graduate students were able to attend along with a policy Fulbrighter (Ziyad) and her. The Statistics Department is looking forward to her return in 2 weeks. With 32 (mostly highly motivated) students enrolled in this year’s Capstone (STAT 5010-5020) Course, it was not easy to select a ‘best’ student, and even selecting two co-winners was quite difficult.
