The Jackie Dietz Best Journal of Statistics Education Paper Award, established in 2011, is given annually to the best paper in the Journal of Statistics Education in the previous year. It is named in honor of Jackie Dietz, the founding editor of the journal. We are extremely proud of Jennifer J. Kaplan for receiving this honor. She was recognized for her collaborative work with John Gabrosek, Phyllis Curtiss, and Christopher J. Malone titled  “Investigating Student Understanding of Histograms,” published in the Journal of Statistics Education (Volume 22, Number 2, 2014). ASA deemed the paper "fundamental to statistics education." Click here to read more.
