But there is considerable ambiguity as to the estimation of spatial regression models in the presence of measurement error. My coauthor and I investigate this possibility, finding that there are both unique challenges and unique solutions to such problems. Importantly, new estimators need to be developed that are beyond the capacity of most practitioners. We demonstrate these issues with both Monte Carlo analysis and empirical applications. About the Speaker Dr. Garrett N. Vande Kamp is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Georgia. He received his PhD from Texas A&M University in American Politics and Research Methodology in 2019. He pursues a dual research agenda in judicial politics and political methodology. His substantive research confronts the puzzle of constitutional courts invalidating the actions of legislatures and executives in the shadow of punitive measures by those branches of government. He also has an interest in the selection and retention of judges. While his theoretical contributions are generalizable across all courts, his research primarily relies on data relating to American courts.
