Riddhimoy Ghosh Receives the Graduate School Doctoral Fellow Award

Riddhimoy obtained a M.S. degree in Data Science from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a GPA of 4.00/4.00, and he was a second-year Ph.D. student in Statistics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) at the time he applied to our doctoral program (mainly because of a pending closure of the department at UNL). In collaboration with his advisor, Riddhimoy co-authored the R package ABCel, which implements a novel entropy-based Approximate Bayesian Computation framework for inference under intractable likelihoods. This work advances methodology for challenging models such as Exponential-family Random Graph Models (ERGMs), and it reflects his capacity to integrate theoretical insight with large-scale simulation and algorithmic development. In addition, he has engaged in interdisciplinary collaborative research using Multilevel Regression with Poststratification (MRP) to estimate electric vehicle adoption patterns, work that was co-presented at the 2024 Transportation Research Board conference and was under journal review at the time he applied to our program.

This award is designed to recruit highly competitive students who will advance the research and scholarship mission of the university. Please join us in congratulating Riddhimoy for receiving this prestigious award from the Graduate School. We expect this announcement to be in the Graduate School announcement around mid September.
